marakai results !

hi :)
As you may have seen from my previous blog post, my friend Hana and I were in a cooking competition. It was held at Gisborne Intermediate, and we competed against all the other schools in Gisborne, up to Intermediate. It was lots of fun and we really enjoyed it! There were some other amazing dishes! We made Chicken and Bok Choy Gyozas, with Nori Miso Soup and lemongrass infused dipping sauce. Gyozas is the Japanese word for our dish. Our dish was Japanese themed. Here is a photo below. We came first for our main dish and got the most independent workers.

Marakai Competition

Hi!
Recently my friend Hana and I were in a school cooking competition together. The competition was called The Marakai Competition. Marakai means 'Garden' in Maori. The winners would go on to the regional competition. We made chicken and bok choy gyozas, with nori miso soup and lemongrass infused dipping sauce. Luckily, we won!! We were so happy and tomorrow is the regional competition which will be held at Gisborne Intermediate.

Kawa of Care

Hi! Today I will be writing to you about Kawa of Care and explaining what it is.

The Kawa of Care is about using your chromebook sensibly and properly. Kawa of Care teaches you how to be responsible online and how to have a positive digital footprint. Here is my Kawa of Care poster I made with Kyra and how to write a sensible, helpful comment.

How to make a successful comment-
  1. Start by greeting the person. Say hi, hello, or maybe introduce yourself.
  2.  Compliment them! The person might not want to read your comment if it's all negative. You could start by saying I like... or I love how you...
  3. If the blog post reminds you of something, make a connection. E.g- If the post was about what book they were reading, you could say if you had read that book before or if you are reading a similar book.
  4. Add some more information.
  5. Ask a question or answer them if they have asked one.
  6. Re-read to see if your comment makes sense
  7. Check for punctuation
  8. Check with the teacher
  9. Publish!
